  • Prof. Simard discusses the classification of the various types of safety culture. He uses two key stakeholders in the company: employees and management. He explains how the various levels of involvement of these 2 stakeholders shape the contours of the 4 types of safety culture: 

         - fatalistic culture,

         - shop floor culture,

         - bureaucratic culture,

         - integrated culture.

    About the expert

    Marcel Simard is a sociologist and former professor of the University of Montreal (Canada). He has contributed to several books and scientific articles in the field of health and safety at work. He also designed a method to diagnose safety culture.
